ENCON, Purge and Trap Concentrators, New

Scientific Equipment Source carry the EST Encon brand of Purge and Trap
Concentrators. EST has developed this after over 100 years of combined
purge and trap experience at EST.
This is one of the most versatile, reliable, accurate and easy to
use purge and trap concentrator in the world and is backed with
superior service. Techlabs can arrange a free demonstration for you.
Features and Benefits
- Optional patented foam sensor protects your entire analytical
system
- The RSVP – remove the entire sample pathway in under three
minutes
- Integrated GC and on-trap injection ports for diagnostic
troubleshooting runs
- Troubleshooting Mode – provides individual control of all
valves and heaters
- Moisture Reduction Trap (MoRT)™ provides excellent
reproducibility by removing moisture on the purge side.
- An 8-port valve allows the Moisture Reduction Trap to be
excluded from the desorb pathway. Dead volume is dramatically reduced
during desorption, improving resolution and sensitivity over the entire chromatogram.
- Silcosteel® pathway for maximum inertness
- Completely compatible with the EST Model 8100, the new
Centurion water only autosampler, Archon, and other autosamplers
- Integrated vacuum fluorescent display and status LEDs
- Numeric keypad and integrated processor capable of storing 20
methods
- Trap bake gas separate from glassware bake gas minimizing
carryover between samples. Compounds being removed from the trap
during the Bake cycle are not swept into a non-heated sample pathway
zone.
- Capable of <18 minute purge & trap cycle times
- High trap bake flows
- Trap heating rate >900 °C/minute
- Trap cool down rate <2 minutes
The Encon is quickly becoming the number one purge and trap
concentrator on the market today!
Accessories
- Sample heater
- Cryogenic trapping
- Cryogenic focusing
- Foam sensor
To protect the concentrator from foaming samples, a foam detector,
which uses conductivity to sense the liquid as it rises in the sparge
vessel, is placed in the upper portion of the sample mount. When foam
is detected, the system will immediately cut off the flow of purge gas
to the vessel and open the pathway to atmosphere to eliminate pressure
in the system which could force the foaming sample into the sample
pathway. The Encon will continue to step through the method, but
during desorb, the trap will not be heated or put on line with the GC.
The GC will be sent a start signal to keep your sample sequence in
order. The trap will then go on to bake out the vent as usual and the
system will be ready for the next sample.
