Tekmar 3100 Purge and Trap Concentrator, Refurbished

Purge and Trap (P&T) has been used for decades to extract volatile organic compounds (VOCs) from a solid or liquid matrix for introduction into a Gas Chromatograph (GC) for separation and identification. The VOCs are concentrated onto an adsorbent trap, followed by thermal desorption into a GC. Sample matrices can range from soil, plastics, foods, flavour, fragrance, emulsions and water.

The Tekmar 3100 Sample Concentrator is the "latest and greatest" in the 3000 Purge and Trap product line. The goal of any analytical method is to provide precise, reproducible results. Because the Tekmar 3100 contains an electroform nickel sample pathway, it provides those results.

This unit has Silcosteel tubing and Silcosteel- treated sample fittings used throughout the sample pathway. Silcosteel treatment involves a process that shields active metal surfaces. A thin, silicon based coating is applied to the metal surface, which keeps analytes from absorbing onto active sites on the metal. This enhances inertness, corrosion resistance, and reduced absorption.

The Tekmar 3100 has a redesigned valve oven and mount temperature control that improves temperature uniformity of the heated sample pathway.
